Clip bolts, plug cams, and stack pads. Sometimes I even plug cams into bolts to be extra safe.

How long have you been an athlete with La Sportiva?

I am new to the 2012 team!

What are some of your lifetime climbing goals?

I want to get people climbing on real rock, especially kids, while teaching them how to treat the environment and access with respect. I also want to enjoy climbing my entire life, whether that's trying to climb 5.14 in my twenties or 5.6 in my sixties.

Do you have a claim to fame?

Once I was on the news for dropping a home run ball at the Atlanta Braves game...

Do you have any vices?

Overeating? Coffee?

What makes you tick as a climber and in the real world?

I train really hard to perform well at the crag, but sometimes, when I get there, the day is so beautiful all I feel like doing is napping or chillin' in the sun. Those days remind me why I'm climbing in the first place to enjoy the beautiful places it takes me.

What drives you to climb? The money? The groupies? The fame? What?

Obviously the money. And an excuse to wake up at 5:30am on my day off. Who doesn't live for that?

What is your favorite movie?

Hook. That imaginary food fight looks delicious.

What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep? Why?

Somewhere around 48 hours when I was in school. Probably could have crammed all that studying into a few hours but, you know...climbing videos

If you had to be named after one of the 50 states, which would it be?

Washington. Sounds serious...

What did you have for lunch yesterday?

2 bloody marys, creme brulee french toast, bbq pork on buttermilk biscuits with fried eggs, quiche over grits, and white chocolate bread pudding.

If you could hook up a thought monitor to your head, would you see pictures, hear words or would music be playing?
