Do you clip bolts, plug cams, stack pads, or crush ice?

I stack pads and stick to the drop offs. Sport climbing has become very pedestrian, and is kinda a yuppy fitness craze. (Special thanks to Portar Jarrard for this amazing quote)

How long have you been an athlete with La Sportiva?

I have been an athlete with La Sportiva since January.

What are some of your lifetime climbing goals?

Actually, even though I rarely sport climb, I would really like to climb 5.14. Yes, I am a yuppy too.

Do you have a claim to fame?

No.

Do you have any vices?

Yes. All 'em.

What makes you tick as a climber and in the real world?

I guess what drives me in life, and as a climber, is my neurotic tendency to always want to improve, no matter what that aspect of my life that involves.

What drives you to climb? The money? The groupies? The fame? What?

Mainly I enjoy climbing because of places it takes you, and the friends you meet along the way. I think that in general climbers are an exceptional group of people, and I can only imagine my life filled with these people.

What is your favorite movie?

Hands down, The Big Lebowski.

Do you have any nicknames? Explain:

Stick, Power Bear, Piddles, The Crusher, Smarvs, and Marvs to name a few. Some have more embarassing backstories than others....

What’s the longest you’ve gone without sleep? Why?

Most recently, I went about 50 hours without sleep on my return trip from India. Two delayed flights, one missed flight, and one re-routed flight later, I was finally home.

If you had to be named after one of the 50 states, which would it be?

Oregon. State motto: She flies with her own wings.

What did you have for lunch yesterday?

A breakfast burrito.

If you could hook up a thought monitor to your head, would you see pictures, hear words or would music be playing?

Dubstep 24/7.

What really scares you about climbing?

I'm terrified of having an injury that was so bad I couldn't climb again.

If your life was made into a movie, what would it be called?

Point Break. I know, ain't it wild?

Where would you live if it could be anywhere in the world?

South Africa, minus the economic instability and potential for political upheaval.

Have no food or have no gasoline?

No gasoline. If you have food, at least you can walk to get gas.

Do you wish you had sexier feet?

No. Feet have long since lost all their sex appeal to me. Humans would be much sexier footless.
