ABOUT:

Kevin Capps, a Golden, Colorado local, spends most of his time leading guided rock climbing trips on the Front Range through his guide service, Denver Mountain Guiding. He has a deep passion for the sport and sharing it with others. Since arriving to the Front Range in 2010, he has developed a desire for establishing new routes in the area, and since then has developed over 150 routes in Colorado and across the U.S. For over a decade, Vibram rubber is the only rubber he trusts to deliver that reliable, high-end performance. "Being able to guide climbers of all ability levels for a living is a life well-lived for me. Whether it’s first-timers or The First Flatiron, or a guided ascent of The Diamond on Long’s Peak, helping others accomplish their goals in the vertical world is my greatest accomplishment.

Q+A:

Who is your favorite climbing partner?

My wife, Laura, is by far my favorite climbing partner. Being able to share a sport with the person you are closest with is pretty incredible. Life is climbing, we are always focused on planning for the next trip or climbing objective, everything else is secondary.

What was the first La Sportiva product you tried?

I have always been a big-time subscriber to the Solution, it feels like cheating wearing a fresh pair! I have recently moved on to the Skwama, as it tends to fit my foot a little better.

Which charity/advocacy organizations do you support or belong to?

I support the Boulder Climbing Community, along with a few other organizations. In years past, I have been a part of the board of directors of the BCC and have seen first-hand how hard they work to give back to the climbing community.

APE INDEX:
