ABOUT ME:

My name is Dominique Barry, I am from Lakewood, California. When I am in the mountains or at the crag I feel free. I love being able to use routes/boulders as a way to express and challenge myself. I’m hyped to be a part of the team this year, and continue to push my personal limits using the best climbing shoes in the biz!

PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENT:

Oct 2017 | Doing my first v9 (Hyperkinetic- Donner summit, California) in a day, the day before moving from Lake Tahoe.
Jan 2019 | Becoming Head Coach of Sender One Climbing Team LAX
Feb 2020 | Sending Kiss off 5.13 (Thakek, Laos) Second try
Sept 2020 | Joined the Advisory Board for Common Climber Magazine

Who is your favorite climbing partner and why?

My favorite climbing partner is Melinda Russell. We completely taught ourselves how to climb ropes. We read all the books, watched all the youtube videos, and sent it haha! First top rope anchors, lead climbs, trad climbs, multi-pitch, night climbs, you name it.. The bond that has been built over the years is incredible.

What is your go-to hype song?

Right now I'm pretty hyped on Kids See Ghosts - Feel the love

What was the first La Sportiva product you tried?

TC Pro and I used them EVERYWHERE on EVERYTHING

Which charity/advocacy organizations do you support or belong to?

While I don’t officially belong to any charity or advocacy organizations. I have supported Access Fund, Friends of Joshua Tree, ClimbingFor Change, Los Angeles Regional Food Bank locally.
