YOUTH CLIMBING TEAM & ROUTE SETTERS

Any youth climbing team (not youth climbing programs) and route setters of any climbing gym.

CLIMBING /SKI GUIDES (SPECIFIC)

AMGA/IFMGA certified guides. Must show certification.

OUTDOOR INDUSTRY/RECREATION INDUSTRY EMPLOYEE

Full-time employees of other brands in the Outdoor Recreation industry as long as individuals can show proof of employment using an e-mail address or recent paycheck stub.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION AND RECREATION PROVIDERS

Instructors, guides, and employees of schools and facilities like NOLS, Outward Bound, and other experiential, outdoor organizations. Must show proof of employment using an e-mail address and recent paycheck stub.

GREEN GOVERNMENT – NATURAL RESOURCE EMPLOYEES

Active employees of entities such as the US Forest Service, National Parks, BLM, etc. Includes state and local variations, Fire Fighters and Search and Rescue (SAR).

SKI PATROL/MOUNTAIN SAFETY (AVY)

Member of the NSP or APP or a resort-based paid professional. Individuals must show a current NSP/APP membership card, recent paycheck stub, or other proof of current/active employment. This area also includes avalanche and safety personnel that are employed by the resort or by local DOT if that individual is field-based.

PSIA/AASI SNOWSPORTS INSTRUCTOR

Member of the PSIA or AASI. Individuals must show a valid and current membership card or be directly employed by a snow resort with a recent paycheck stub that lists a specific department/occupation.

MOUNTAIN RESORTS EMPLOYEE

An individual who is currently actively working at a US-based ski area. Must be in a position that touches snow or dirt – meaning no food service, daycare, or maintenance workers. Must provide a resort-based e-mail address and current employment contract/paycheck stub.

GUIDES (GENERAL)

Any outdoor guide – from hunting/fishing guides to climbing guides, adventure travel, etc. if currently employed in the operations of a company or as an actual guide. Must show proof of employment using an e-mail address and recent paycheck stub.

CLIMBING GYM EMPLOYEES

Climbing gym employees (non-La Sportiva Dealers) can show current employment by exhibiting their gym-based e-mail address and a current paycheck stub. This includes fitness and yoga instructors who are employed by the climbing gym.

UNIVERSITY OUTDOOR PROGRAM F/T EMPLOYEE

An employee of a collegiate/university outdoor program or one who guides/leads snow/ski outings consistently for the outdoor program. A paycheck stub, job description/note from a manager is required.

ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS

Paid staff of organizations that work to protect and preserve our natural environment. Organizations like the Sierra Club, The Nature Conservancy, and other small regional local groups. Must be paid staff. No volunteers or desk-bound board of directors.

OUTDOOR RECREATION MEDIA/PHOTOGRAPHER PROFESSIONAL

An employee at established industry-based publication/media company including magazines, video/media brands; Photographer/videographer focused on Outdoor Recreation imaging as a primary occupation.

DEALER /SHOP EMPLOYEE (LA SPORTIVA ACTIVE DEALER)

Any retail clerk or gym employee who is a current/active employee of a La Sportiva Dealer. Employment verification is through a personal store-based e-mail address and a recent paycheck stub.

VERTICAL ACCESS PROFESSIONALS

Arborists, Tower Workers, Lineman or any related field using speciality equipment to ascend vertical features. Must show proof of employment with a business that specializes in these types of services by providing a recent pay stub or other proof of employment through the company.
