ABOUT:
I live in Lafayette Colorado and I’m motivated to be in the mountains to be free as climbing puts me in the moment and creates a focus that is hard to find elsewhere. Creating moments of courage along with the moments of defeat builds character and generally, I feel improved after a solid day out in the mountains. I love La Sportiva for the quality of footwear that has kept me warm, attached to the mountain, and moving swiftly in all kinds of terrain.
PROUDEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
• Becoming the 29th American IFMGA guide
• Guiding the Hydrophobia/ Sorcerer link up multiple times
• Guiding the Matterhorn with a long time friend when he was 73
• Serving as the Technical Director of the AMGA
• Staying alive after 31 years of climbing in hazardous environments

Which charity/advocacy organizations do you support or belong to?
I belong to a lot of outdoor advocacy organizations and it’s hard to pick a favorite. I really believe in the American Mountain Guides Association as it trains guides to a high standard that allows for more people to experience the same joy that I have experienced in the mountains. The AMGA is a leader in outdoor inclusivity and is helping make climbing and skiing a safer environment for all people.
